We Review: The Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave In Treatment Everyone Is Talking About

If you only try one hair product this year, I strongly advise it be the Aveda Botanical Repair Leave-In Treatment designed to repair and strengthen hair that needs a little extra helping hand.

I happened upon the leave in treatment by complete accident, thanks to the M&S 2021 summer beauty bag which I only just managed to get hold of before it sold out, which came complete with 11 must-have beauty items.

At first I thought that it was a hair mask and so it sat unused for some time at the bottom of the bag. Because who really has time for hair masks? (I hope my hairdresser isn’t reading this!). But then I kept hearing about the Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave In Treatment and how incredible the results were, and I realised it had been sitting in the bottom of my beauty bag all this time. A hair mask I don’t have time for, but a leave in treatment that you put through damp hair and then style as usual? Now that I could work with.

It couldn’t have come at a better time too. My hair was looking particularly frazzled after a recent colour touch up and a longer than usual gap between cuts, and I knew I needed one of the best conditioning treatments around to fix it. So one morning after my usual, far too basic I’m sure, hair routine, I put a very generous dollop of the leave in treatment, which is thick and creamy, into my damp hair. It absorbed immediately and also helped detangle my long difficult hair much more easily. I added my usual smoothing serum for my frizzy prone locks, and heat protector, and grabbed my Dyson Hairdyer and hairbrush (another absolute must have if you’re prone to frizzy hair) and styled as usual.

The immediate difference was very noticeable.

My hair was smooth, glossy and more interestingly - bouncy. Most of my hair niggles (dull, frizzy hair and broken ends) appeared to have vanished and I looked like I’d just come back from the salon. I had been worried that a leave in treatment would leave my hair feeling weighed down or greasy but other than how healthy my hair looked there was no trace of the treatment. I was very happy.

After seeing the instant results I decided to continue using the Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Treatment every time I washed my hair, and I don’t think my hair has ever been in better condition. I’m not someone who likes to have a million products in my hair and skin routine, because honestly I struggle to commit to it and it ends up being a huge waste of money for me. So a product that visibly works straight away, and is so easy to use, is one that I am happy to add into my routine.

I’ve been using the 100ml bottle for a little over a month now and it is still going strong – I’m also extremely generous with how much I use each time so I’m pleased it seems to be lasting a long time.

This product could be so much more expensive but I’m very glad it’s not, and based on the amount of compliments I’ve had from friends since I started using it alone, I will be continuing to use this treatment for the foreseeable future.

You can get your own Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave In Treatment from £30 on Amazon and £35 from M&S. You won’t regret it.
